Jane Brown Featured in NRA Magazine

janenra039Jane Brown of Live Water Properties hosted the 2nd NRA Women’s Leadership Forum Meeting at her home in Jackson Hole.  The Ring of Freedom group spent 5 days planning the future of the Women’s Leadership Forum and one thing in particular the group focused on was education.  In addition, the they worked on ideas for raising capital to propel the outreach effort.  As the number of female hunters continues to grow, the Ring of Freedom group will work towards championing their message of the importance of Second Amendment freedoms.

Possible Bill Encourages Kids to Fish

billA bill is being considered by the House Education and Labor Committee that will that would promote environmental education, outdoor activities, and science-based  experiential learning as part of the national educational curriculum.  The bill called “No Child Left Inside” will encourage kids to get off their couches and computers and outside enjoying all that nature has to offer.  Read more about the details of this potential bill on the Field and Stream website.

Mountain Goats Spotted in Snake River Canyon

On a cold, but sunny Monday afternoon Brian Hartley and Alex Maher of Live Water Properties spotted a pair of elusive mountain goats in the Snake River Canyon just north of Alpine on the way home from showing property.  The pair appeared to be a mother - kid duo who took the opportunity to eat the exposed high country grasses, as they moved gracefully along the sheer cliffs. » More: Mountain Goats Spotted in Snake River Canyon

Evironmentally-Friendly Real Estate Investment

live-waterThe Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship at Oxford’s Said Business School has published an excellent article entitled “Blended Value Investing: Innovations in Real Estate.”  This article defines Blended Value Investing as investment that focuses not only on meeting defined financial return targets, but on preserving and creating ecological conservation value as well.  The paper focuses specifically on Blended Value Investing in real estate, and begins by listing the vehicles available to invest in such properties.  These vehicles are niche-individual deals, funds, and a marketplace.  Since much ecological and conservation-based real estate investment involves large tracts of land that trade infrequently, niche deals and funds provide the best way to access this kind of investment.
